Children & Youth

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:13-14

Acolytes

Being an acolyte is an amazing chance for kids to serve their church and take part in the worship service. This vital role allows children 3rd grade and older to add value to the worship experience.

Joyful Noise Offering

This program offers a unique opportunity for children to learn about the importance of giving and the truth of God's offerings. As they collect loose change from the congregation in metal buckets and make noise down the aisles, they are also learning valuable lessons about stewardship. Jesus said in Matthew 6:21, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." They even get to choose where to donate the offerings collected, further reinforcing the lesson of stewardship.

Nursery

Our loving nursery staff provides our infants and toddlers a safe environment to begin life’s journey and to learn of God’s love. Our nursery is open during children's church. If your family has a special need, please contact us.

Children's Church

After a special children's message, children may go to children's church where they have the opportunity to connect with God through engaging music, videos, and fun activities tailored to their age group.

Special Services

Our children have the opportunity to engage in special services through music and performances as a form of worship.

Youth
After aging out of children's church our youth join us in the sanctuary for service and have the option to join ministry committees to keep them engaged and strengthen their walk with Christ.

Youth Committees
EMC youth are encouraged to participate in ministry. We see it as a chance for them to showcase their unique talents while cultivating a spirit of selflessness and service. We offer a variety of ways for our youth to serve. They can participate in our audio-visual booth, serve as a helper in children's church, read scripture during service and perform special music for the congregation.

Confirmation Class
Methodists use the term "confirmation" to mark the first time a baptized Christian publicly "confirms" a personal intention to live the vows of the baptismal and membership covenant and so becomes a professing member of the local congregation and The Methodist Church. As early as 6th grade, youth may participate in confirmation class. An in-depth study is led by the pastor and confirmation team seeking to give the child a systematic overview of the faith - our identity, our history and heritage, our practices, and our beliefs. This will include both our heritage and practices as a Christian community and as a Methodist Family, as well as our basic beliefs and commitments. It is an opportunity to respond to the grace of God available to us, as acknowledged in baptism, and to promise to live as a person of faith.
